Saying that I can’t stand my web hosting company sounds extreme but unfortunately this is the truth. These people have been messing me around for over a week now and my website has been offline all that time. I really can’t understand how some people can be so bad at their job. Customer care must be at the bottom on their list of priorities. The following are some of the reasons for my feelings towards my web hosting company

  • My website went down last week and since then, the web hosting company has done very little to try and solve the problem. Although they have said that they will look at the problem, they have also said that they don’t know why the site is down.

  • Their first response to my site being absent from the web was to blame me.

  • They never reply to my emails in a quick manner; it usually takes about 24 hours before I get a response. I have never been so frustrated with a process as I am with this. I never get a response from the same person and everyone I talk to has no idea of what has already happened. So I feel as though I am back to the beginning every time.

  • There is no politeness in any of the emails and they are always full of grammar and spelling mistakes. There is always the insinuation that I have done something wrong. It makes me think that they are told to think that the customer is never right.

  • My web hosting provider proudly advertises the fact that they have a 24 hour hotline. Well, this is one cold line as far as I am concerned because no one ever answers it, and I have been trying for a whole week.

  • They have given no indication whatsoever as to when my site might be back online.

  • They will not refund the money I have paid upfront; I stupidly paid for a whole year in order to get a small discount.

Anytime you make your mind up to go into internet marketing, you must ensure that you have web hosting set up beforehand – pixelinternet is an effective starting point. But the field of webhosting can be baffling.

Although Google + is still being tested at the moment, many people are making a number of huge claims about it. Some people are saying that it will overtake the social media websites that we know so well such as Facebook but some people are even going so far as to say that we won’t even need websites and blogs anymore. If this were to happen then will there still be a need for web hosting in the future? We may see that Google + really does change the way things are done. It is certainly going to shake things up a bit anyway.

There are very few people with access to Google + at the moment. But of those who are using it, a large number of them have said they will be getting rid of their websites so they can focus on this new social media site. It is still very early to say but the general consensus is that Google + is a much better social media option for those who want to be able to create a lot of content than other social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook. The fact that it is user friendly and won’t cost anything to use are other benefits of it.

It really is too early to predict how Google + will affect the future of web hosting. There was similar talk about other projects over the past few years such as Buzz and Google Wave. However, neither of these projects actually lived up to the expectations placed on them. We could see the same scenario with Google +. Only time will tell in this situation. Even if this new platform is a huge success there will still be those who want to have their own separate website and blogs. There are some people who will not want to tie all their fortunes to Google as it could be a risky strategy.

In the event you make your decision to go into the big, bad arena of internet marketing, you must really have web hosting set up beforehand – pixelinternet is a great starting point. The hosting world is often a challenging one though for any novice.
