What is there to Know about IKEA Australia?

There are over 250 IKEA retail chains around the world, and one of the countries you can find one of these unique stores is in Australia. IKEA Australia is extremely popular among its locals – and you can understand why. It has the fabulous brand that makes buying furniture more than an isolated experience – it is a journey. If you have heard a little bit about this great retail store but want to learn more, don’t just sit there. Read on!

IKEA Australia

IKEA Australia is one of the many offspring to the originator of the brand, which started in Sweden in the 1940s. The founder, Ingvar Kamprad, started the company in 1943 as a project that would allow him to sell a few smaller items like watches and nylon stockings. By the 1950s, however, he had grown the company into much more than a small retail store, selling unique styles of furniture. Over time, he realized that designing contemporary styles with distinct, low cost materials could not only save money for him, but his customers also. And from that idea, he created one of the most popular home and office furnishing stores in the world that is now serving 35 countries worldwide – and the stores just keep coming.

With IKEA Australia having its official start in 1981, there are now three great stores found in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. They have found great success at their locations due to their faithful customers. And the reason they are so faithful is because, at IKEA Australia, you can expect nothing less than the best. Like the many other stores around the world, the Australian retailers sell innovatively-designed home furnishing items, including sofas and chairs, a number of accessories for the kitchen and bathroom, office workstations, and even decorative items for your home.

According to the company, the reason for the success of their products is simple: they design their price tag first. They believe in deciding on a great low price to charge their customers for a beautiful design and then work on ways to accomplish that price. For example, their LAMPAN lamp was designed around the idea that they could pack the lamp inside the shade for protection – and lower cost to you. As a result, many people enjoy the benefits of a beautiful lamp without the pain of empty pockets. The Australian company believes in this policy, which is why they make it possible for you to find the best products at the lowest prices.

Great buys are not all IKEA Australia has to offer, however. Below are some of the benefits customers receive by shopping at one of their retails stores.

Logan Store (Brisbane)

The Logan Store in Brisbane has great options for customers. In addition to offering great furniture, they have unique services for those in the vicinity. As a service to customers, the Logan Store began a bus service that will shuttle people directly to their store every operating hour of every day. Also, for those who become hungry for more than just furniture in the store, this IKEA Australia location offers a great restaurant and Swedish Food Market that has coffee, tea, biscuits, and fun desserts.

And to follow in the tradition of the company’s disposition toward charitable giving, the Brisbane location dedicates money and time to UNICEF. As a special promotional offer during the holidays, the store promoted their soft toys to customers to purchase; and out of the profits, a portion was to be donated to the UNICEF. The IKEA Group is known for its contributions to this and other organizations, and this local retailer was not to be left behind.

Homebush Bay Drive (Sydney)

The Homebush Bay Drive location loves to entertain children, which is why they make available the Kids Club – a great way for children to take charge of their IKEA experience. With a free membership, a new member between the ages of 3 and 12 will receive a starter kit, which includes a coupon for a free meal at the in-store café, a current newsletter and other goodies. Probably the best gift of all to the petite member, however, is his or her own Kids Club swipe card that can be worn around the neck. When in the store, the card can be swiped in the children’s area to win a prize. And if the child visits the store up to one month before or on his or her birthday, a great opportunity is provided to scan the club card for a birthday voucher for $10 off of a store purchase.

There are other special kids events held at the store on a regular basis; the dates and times of those events can be found on the Homebush website or in the Kids Club newsletter.

Richmond (Melbourne)

As a part of the Richmond experience, the store offers complete kitchen solutions for its customers. If you are located in the area and are interested in creating great designs in your kitchen space then you can find everything you need through the Richmond website. You can download their kitchen planner, view interior ranges, look at their pots and pans guide and even learn how to measure your home space for a new kitchen.

In addition to enjoying their kitchen services, it is important to the Richmond location that you have a great overall experience in their store. They advise that before you visit their store, you should plan ahead. They suggest that you visit on one of their quieter days (Thursday or Friday) and come prepared to shop for hours. When you enter the store you can pick up a shopping guide, pencil, tape measure and yellow bag then be prepared to make wise decisions that will benefit your home for years to come.

IKEA Australia may represent one of the smaller worldwide regions for the company’s stores, but they are not lacking in presence. By visiting on of the IKEA Australia stores, you are guaranteed to have a great experience with a caring staff of employees. If you’re ready to have a unique experience while buying great furniture, they are there to help you. What more can you ask for from a popular international retailer?
