Kids ATV
Since the last decade, ATV models were distinctly divided into two
usages, for utility and for sport.
It’s no wonder that kids love this sport. The trills, the ride, the
cool equipment, it’s the next closest fancy every kid would have
aside from donning Darth Vader outfit and play mock swordfight with
a couple of friends.
I have no qualms about this; I have a kid brother who used to pester
me until I concede to bring him with me every time I take a ride
with my ATV. To remedy this scenario, I take him exclusively for a
ride to some secluded area and let him ride his heart out while I
busied myself with something to read nearby, always keeping a
watchful eye on him. And I would never take him to do some serious
ATV with a couple of friends. But this is my scenario.
What others may have maybe a bit more complicated. Your kid or your
brother might be sneaking out with your ATV by himself and putting a
considerable safety risk. To make matters worse, he might decide to
do some serious off terrain by himself without proper equipment or
proper knowledge on operating such, like operating the winch.
Kids operating an ATV intended for adults are extremely dangerous.
With regards to my younger brother, I always keep a watchful eye on
him. I bought him his own helmet and I forbade him to leave the
area. Since the area I often chose was a plain meadow, the best he
can do was trample the grass to death. So far there were no
objections on his part so I don’t see the need to buy him a kids
ATV. Besides, this way I can safely monitor his progress on ATV and
decide if it’s safe for him to have kids ATV.
But if you are in the latter scenario, the best you can do is buy
him kids ATV and school him about its proper usage. Kids ATV are
much, much smaller and most have a speed restrictor. The brakes are
usually large and more sensitive (especially to panic breaking) and
the installation of auto kill switch is a plus. The greatest
advantage perhaps is the emergency engine cut-off that you control
by a cord or by remote. Though there are others that don’t have this
feature, try to get a model with this feature especially if your
kids are starters or very young.
Here are some optimal samples of kids ATV I would recommend. Don’t
forget to get a helmet.
